Hurricane Katia hit Scotland on September 12, 2011. Deep within the Borders, we only experienced gale force winds. Whipped by that force, this tree along a single track, wheat field road caught every feeling I had about the day. Black and white with vignetting makes this one special.

Sally Ross retired from the University of Georgia Department of Language and Literacy, after many wonderful years of working with Georgia English teachers. She now thrives on travel, hiking, golf, and photography, making Scotland the perfect destination for several months every summer.
