Artist's Description

The colors of the ancient Augustine Abbey (founded in 1128) outside Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh appear as watercolors, or as antiqued images worthy of John Muir Wood's techniques. The pinks, blues, and greens overcome the gray stones, but as you study the image, you'll see the foundations that carry the colors in this grand arch and the columns that merge into a single wall through its opening.

Sally Ross retired from the University of Georgia Department of Language and Literacy, after many wonderful years of working with Georgia English teachers. She now thrives on travel, hiking, golf, and photography, making Scotland the perfect destination for several months every summer.
