This kindly gentleman proudly marched with his Highlander pipe and drum group at the annual games in Inverness, Scotland, and then posed with and for tourists. Every bit of this shot speaks of tradition and strength.

Sally Ross retired from the University of Georgia Department of Language and Literacy, after many wonderful years of working with Georgia English teachers. She now thrives on travel, hiking, golf, and photography, making Scotland the perfect destination for several months every summer.
