Description
The Roman gateway through the main walls of Portovenere, Italy, was built in 1160 AD. It leads to one main street of the city, the one back from the busy harbor, but usually filled with visitors to its many shops and vendors. This day, in torrential rains, the few people out were huddling home, passing ancient stonework, worn but still colorful and rain-shiny.
