It was the proverbial dark and stormy night. Blustery, dark clouds led me out the single track road from Ardgay to Croik, along the burbling River Carron. Then the sky broke loose! I simply stopped and experienced the glory! As the rains dissipated and the sun reappeared, this wet and ethereal ancient bridge lay in front of me.

Sally Ross retired from the University of Georgia Department of Language and Literacy, after many wonderful years of working with Georgia English teachers. She now thrives on travel, hiking, golf, and photography, making Scotland the perfect destination for several months every summer.
