The scene of a terrible ferry disaster in 1809, the Meikle Ferry sign (near Dornoch) now advertises “no ferry”. In fact, the road is empty except for a very private golf course along its sides, and it ends at a small pier where boats, including this sail boat, were at rest or moored on this quiet rainy night.
